Speakers & Audience

Participants in ARESUVA

Summit delegates will be stimulated and challenged by an outstanding cohort of Speakers and discussion leaders. The speakers will range from practitioners through to commentators and writers. They will also come from all parts of Africa, from Angola to Zimbabwe. The diversity of backgrounds and experiences is what will make this Summit different. The Summit will feature case studies from across the world by International speakers and panelists.

The audience will cover delegates from the Visual Arts, African Government Agencies, International trusts and communities in over fifty African countries which will provide inspirational examples of transformation of places and peoples' lives through the Visual Arts.

Seminar Papers and Discussions

These would address the fears of professional artists and other stakeholders in the aforementioned areas and deliberate extensively on the importance and centrality of the Visual Arts sub-sector in African countries' economies.

Buyers/Sellers and Investors Meetings

A Five day event that will feature prior trade flow and analysis/demand and supply surveys between delegates/participants, exhibitors, the public and support institutions.

Sessional Focus

The programme is a dynamic, engaging and thoughtful one designed to allow all delegates/participants to share their views on enterprise development in the Visual Arts sub-sector in the African region. It has been designed to enable the free flow of ideas and interaction through one-on-one discussions, breakout workshops and plenary presentations by stimulating speakers.

Binary/Parallel (Work Group) Sessions

A classical parliament-oriented binary/parallel interactive sessions and knowledge exchanges to establish a knowledge Bank through:

  • Democratizing economic and investment decision making process, promotion of linkages in the Visual Arts sub-sector.
  • The fusion of private-public sectors knowledge, information and experience.

Bring to light the opinions and concerns of local actors in the development process of the Visual Arts sub-sector.

The whole idea is an empowerment process.

Plenary Sessions

Co-ordination/presentation by renowned operators. For all participants/delegates from the public and private sectors, sectoral issues of focus include:

  • Funding for the Visual Arts
  • Artists Registration Council
  • Standardization of works of art.
  • Poverty Alleviation programmes
  • Environmental issues
  • Business in the Visual Arts

Exhibition

A platform to open business opportunities in the visual arts sub-sector:

  • To show case peculiarities in each of the participating African countries.
  • To forge a one-on-one profitable links between collectors and artists

Business Luncheon/Dinner Session

Opportunity for all stakeholders to cement intra sectoral linkages in the visual arts.

Lunch/Questions & Answers Session

  • A stimulating and expressive interactive forum between delegates/participants, Exhibitors andĀ  top officials of the National Gallery of Art, Abuja led by the Director General/CEO - Mr. Joe Musa, who is also the Regional Co-ordinator of the Summit.
  • Avail ability of primary information on government policies on the visual arts.
  • Informal interaction with the various actors in the visual arts sub-sector.

Study Tour of FCT

  • Free guided tour of the Tourist attractions in the Federal Capital Territory for sponsors, foreign delegatesĀ  and top officials of the participating African countries.

Unity State Banquet

AIM: To provide a forum of promoting political and economic growth agenda for the African region (attendance by special invitation).
